What good things happen to a person simply because he believes the gospel?

Upon believing the gospel, a person immediately experiences the fullness of atonement—at-one-ment with God. He is reconciled to God, brought into full fellowship with Him, becomes God's own, and is made a joint heir. These good things occur simply because he believes the gospel.

Les explains that under Paul's gospel, the moment a person believes, he immediately experiences the fullness of atonement, which is broken into the syllables at-one-ment, meaning being at one with God Himself. The believer is reconciled to God, in full fellowship with Him, belongs to Him, and is a joint heir. Les says all these good things have happened simply because we believe the gospel, without taking away other ramifications of the Christian experience.
