What does going through tribulations produce or teach us?
Tribulations produce patience. The teaching explains that when believers go through tribulations, they gain patience from it. Enduring trials and sufferings, including difficult workplace situations, teaches patience as the end result. General tribulations are distinguished from the coming tribulation, and patience is the stated gain.
Les explains that persecution and tribulations may come, but not the tribulation. He says we may face tribulations, times of trials and sufferings, and if we go through tribulation, we know we will gain something from it: patience. He illustrates with a friend who asked for patience; he told her God only gets us patience through tribulations, so she said forget it. He adds that workplace situations and trying experiences yield patience as the end result.
