What will happen to a believer who has no reward?
A believer whose works are burned will suffer loss of reward, not loss of salvation. He will have no reward, yet he himself shall be saved. Such believers will still be in glory, where no sin, sin nature, Satan, envy, or jealousy exist, so those without reward will not be envied by those who have reward.
Les explains that if a believer's work is burned, that one suffers loss—not of salvation, but of reward. He will have no reward, and there will be many like that, yet they are going to be in glory. In glory there is no sin, no sin nature, and no Satan to deal with, so there will be no envy or jealousy of those who gained reward from those who have none. Scripture says such a person shall be saved. Salvation is based on faith, while works result in reward. Les teaches that rewards are laid up and enjoyed for all eternity, and that this should drive the believer to live a fruitful life. Compared to eternity, seventy or eighty years is nothing. Paul often used the Olympic athlete analogy: they trained and strove to win because of the wreath.

Even if a believer seems undeserving and has no reward, he will still be saved because salvation is based on faith, not on works or deserts.
