Does God require good works in order to be saved, or do good works come from salvation?
Good works are not required in order to be saved; they are the result of salvation. God expects the believer to perform good works, but not for salvation. The believer is God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus by believing, and from that point on good works follow.
Les teaches that when God transforms a person, makes them a child, and forgives them, they become a symphonic work of art, a thing of beauty, and His workmanship. This saving work is as great a miracle as God creating the universe, because the believer becomes a unique creation of the only Creator. Les then reads that believers have been created into Christ Jesus unto good works. He stresses that God absolutely expects the believer to perform good works, but not for salvation; they are a result of salvation.
