What did Christ accomplish on the cross according to the Day of Atonement tabernacle picture?

On the cross, Christ accomplished everything pictured in the tabernacle on the Day of Atonement: propitiation through His shed blood, death, burial, and resurrection, all on our behalf. God set Him forth as the propitiation for those who place faith in His blood, securing remission of sins that are past.

Les explains that everything in that tabernacle spoke of Christ, and when the whole picture is put together, that is propitiation. He says the Greek scholars may not agree with him totally, but basically that is what propitiation is all about: everything in that tabernacle picture on the Day of Atonement, Christ accomplished on the cross with His shed blood, His death, His burial, and His resurrection. It has all been done on our behalf. Les further notes that God set Him forth to be a propitiation when we place our faith in His blood, because Scripture demands shed blood for the remission of sin, and we cannot ignore or abrogate that. The remission is for sins that are past, through the forbearance of God, declaring His righteousness.
