Why does the Law show that we are lawbreakers?
The Law convicts us that we are sinners and nothing but lawbreakers because of our condition in Adam. Our condition in Adam is the underlying reason; the Law exposes that reality rather than creating it. The cross is where old Adam is reckoned, meeting the Law's conviction.
