Les Feldick Bible Study

What happens when you truly believe Christ accomplished everything?

When a person truly and honestly believes that Christ accomplished everything needed on their behalf, He moves in and gives them power to live a life pleasing in His sight. They may still fall or trip, but God forgives, cleanses, and tells them to move on.

Les explains that this covering of the garments of salvation is imputed, a bookkeeping term meaning to put to the account. God's righteousness is imputed to us because we have believed what He has done on our behalf. If a person says they believe but remains defeated and stuck in the same old problems, something is wrong in the believing end of it. When someone truly and honestly believes Christ accomplished everything needed, He moves in and gives power to live a life pleasing in His sight. Believers will still fall and trip, but God is like a patient young mother who never gives up; He picks them up, says they are forgiven and cleansed, and tells them to move on. This concerns people genuinely dealing with God on His premises, not a flash in the pan or merely fulfilling a ritualistic demand.
