What righteousness was imputed to everyone who believed?

The righteousness imputed to everyone who believed is God's own righteousness—an imputed righteousness, a spiritual covering. Scripture presents it as the imputed righteousness of God, the same garment of salvation pictured when God clothed Adam and Isaiah and when He clothes a believer in Romans 3.

Les explains that it was God's righteousness that was imputed unto everyone who believed—an imputed righteousness, an imputed covering. Because Adam had the ability to believe what God said, the blood was shed from the sacrificial animals. God not only covered their physical body, but He clothed them with a spiritual garment that now hid old Adam, and he now has the imputed righteousness of the righteousness of God. Les connects this to Isaiah 61:10, where the prophet rejoices because God clothed him with the garments of salvation, and to Romans 3, saying all three mean the same thing: the imputed righteousness of God.
