When is God's righteousness imputed and placed upon a believer?
God's righteousness is imputed and placed upon a believer at the moment they believe. Scripture states it has been imputed to us and placed upon us when we believed. It is not earned by merit; it is received by faith, so that once a person becomes a believer, they are covered with God's righteousness.
Les explains that Isaiah spoke of being clothed with the garments of salvation and covered with God's righteousness, and Romans 3:23 says the same. The righteousness of God has been imputed to us and placed upon us when we believed. Once we become a believer, we are covered with God's righteousness—not so the world can see it, but God sees it. God looks on us and does not see Les Feldick or you by name; He sees Christ in His righteousness. Les teaches that we believe unto righteousness, the true aspect of salvation, and then confession is made with the mouth unto salvation. Paul rests on the Word of God, which says whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed.
