How is the righteousness of God appropriated, and who receives it?

The righteousness of God is appropriated by faith and is upon all them that believe, for there is no difference. It is received by both Jew and Gentile alike, who must come on the same level ground, not by covenant or ethnic status.

Les explains that the law could do nothing but condemn, pointing the finger and saying guilty. But the righteousness of God is appropriated by faith, not by law-keeping or covenant status. It is upon all them that believe, and there is no difference. The Jew must come on the same level playing ground as the Gentile; he cannot come in on covenant ground. God sees the Jew as no different than a Gentile. Likewise, a white person cannot come as white, for there is no difference between white and black, yellow and brown, rich and poor. Paul, as part of his revelations of the doctrine of grace, tells us this. Israel as a nation is still blind to these things, but their day is coming.
