Les Feldick Bible Study

Can a Jew come before God on covenant ground?

No. The Jew must come to God on the same level playing ground as the Gentile, not on covenant ground. God sees no difference between Jew and Gentile; righteousness is appropriated by faith upon all who believe, so covenant status cannot give a Jew special standing before God today.

Les explains that the Jew has to come on the same level playing ground as everyone else and cannot come in on covenant ground. He cannot stand before God today and say, "I'm a Jew," because God says that is not how He sees him—He sees him as no different than a Gentile. The law could only condemn and declare guilty; righteousness comes by faith upon all who believe, with no difference between Jew and Gentile. Les also notes that a white person cannot come claiming white identity, for there is no difference between white and black, yellow and brown, rich and poor.
