Les Feldick Bible Study

How is the righteousness of God received, and on whom does it come?

The righteousness of God is appropriated by faith, not by law or covenant, and it comes upon all them that believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile; every person must come to God on the same level ground, because God sees no distinction among people.

Les explains that the law could do nothing but condemn and point the finger, saying guilty. The righteousness of God is appropriated by faith and comes upon all them that believe, for there is no difference. This means no difference between Jew and Gentile. The Jew cannot come on covenant ground or claim special status before God; God says, "I see you as no different than a Gentile." The same applies to any racial or economic distinction: there is no difference between white and black, yellow and brown, rich and poor. Everyone must come on the same level playing ground. Les also notes that Israel is still blind to these revelations, but believers need not be blind.
