Who should we as Gentiles listen to for New Testament teaching?
For New Testament teaching, Gentiles should listen to the Apostle Paul. Scripture identifies him as the apostle of the Gentiles, and Romans is presented as a basic book for us today, the place to begin understanding God's plan of salvation, since Gentiles were not steeped in the Mosaic system.
Les teaches that Romans is one of the basic books of Scripture for us today, and he says it is where we have to begin in understanding God's tremendous plan of salvation. He explains that although Old Testament believers had salvation, they were under a different set of circumstances, spiritual as well as physical, than we are. For Gentiles who have not been steeped in the Mosaic system, the Apostle Paul is the man we have to listen to. Les also points to Romans 11:13, where Paul says by inspiration, "For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles."
