What did the pastor from Iowa say about monotheistic religions?
The pastor asserted that all monotheistic religions—those that worship the one God—are all in Christ, all believers, and all going to heaven. He made this claim the previous Sunday morning, according to the young man from Iowa who called.
Les explains that this reflects a broader consortium of the religions of the world coming together, formerly called ecumenicalism, which he says is still part of the current landscape. He recounts a young man from Iowa calling him, reporting that his pastor had stated the previous Sunday morning that all monotheistic religions—those that worship the one God—are all in Christ, all believers, and all going to heaven. Les contrasts this with Paul's foundation, which is Jesus Christ and Him crucified, buried, and risen again, not a continuation of something already building.
