What does the Bible say about the marriage bed?
Scripture says the marriage bed is undefiled, and God calls it honorable in all. Jesus and God put their stamp of approval on the marriage relationship, beginning in the Garden. Under God's restraints, marital intimacy is normal and is what God has given, not something to be rejected.
Les explains that the passage addresses sexual immorality between male and female, where people change the truth of God into a lie. Yet Jesus put His stamp of approval upon the marriage relationship, and God did so way back in the Garden. All the way through Scripture, Paul says in Hebrews that the marriage bed is undefiled, and God says it is honorable in all. Under God's restraints, these things are not only normal but are what God has given. Man, however, has taken the God-given things and used them under the influence of the adversary, Satan, changing the truth of God into a lie and worshiping and serving the creature more than the Creator.
Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
