Where did the Roman soldiers who became believers under Paul go after leaving him?
They went to various other places of service throughout the Roman Empire, and some went right into the temple of the Emperor himself. As they rotated through their service from one end of the Empire to the other, they took the Gospel with them.
Les explains that Paul was under house arrest in Rome for the last several years and had at least a few Roman soldiers as his constant guard. He gives the Apostle credit that almost all of them, after spending their tour of duty in Paul's presence, left as believers. They went to various other places of service throughout the Roman Empire, and Paul even mentions in one place that they went right into the temple of the Emperor himself. As they would rotate through their service from one end of the Empire to the other, they took the Gospel with them. This is what made the book of Acts say that those early believers turned the then-known world upside down and inside out, because they were never ashamed of the Gospel, no more than Paul was.
