Do the promises of Romans 8 apply to every Christian?
Yes. Paul writes to the believer, so the promises of Romans 8 apply to every true child of God. They are not for a few or an elite group but for everyone. This includes being led by the Spirit and receiving the spirit of adoption.
Les explains that Paul always writes to the believer, so Romans 8 promises are for every true child of God, not just the few or the elite. He points to Romans 8:14, where as many as are led by the Spirit of God are already the sons of God, not going to be. Verse 15 says believers have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. Les also mentions that Romans 8 speaks of believers being glorified.
