Les Feldick Bible Study

How soon will a newborn baby sin?

A newborn baby will sin just as quick as they can. Because every child of Adam is born with the old Adamic nature bent to rebellion, that nature shows itself early, even in total innocence, through fits of anger, lying, and bad language before anyone teaches them.

Les teaches that every child of Adam is born with the old Adamic nature, which is bent to rebellion. He illustrates with a sweet, innocent newborn: how soon will he or she sin? Just as quick as they can. Even in total innocence, that little Adamic nature pops up, showing fits of anger. As they get older, they can lie like a trooper and use bad language, though no one taught them; it comes from the old nature. That nature has already sinned before we are old enough to know what's what, and the decree is that it must die. But the loophole is that our old man is crucified with Christ, so the body of sin might be destroyed.

Romans 6:6

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
