What happens when a person receives imputed righteousness?

When a person receives imputed righteousness, Scripture says they are justified, redeemed, and forgiven. These blessings fit together with salvation, yet they are intangible and invisible. A person knows they have happened not by physical evidence but by faith, resting on the promises of the book.

Les teaches that imputed righteousness is tied directly to justification, redemption, and forgiveness. He says these all fit together to fulfill the word salvation, and they are part of a larger list of twelve or thirteen things. Yet these realities cannot be handled, laid out on a table, put under a microscope, or analyzed, because they are all intangible and invisible. The only way to know they happened is by faith. Les points out that he has no plaque on his wall or decree from God saying he is forgiven, justified, or redeemed, and neither does anyone else. What believers have are the promises of the Book. Because the Book says it, they know it has happened. He also recalls a lady who was beside herself, and he told her that tomorrow she might have doubts and think it was only emotional. His advice was to come back, look at the verses, claim them, and say out loud to God that this is what He said and promised, and she believes it.
