Why can't we manipulate God into doing what we want?
God cannot be manipulated because He is not a Santa Claus figure; He is absolute, sovereign, holy, and just. His will is accomplished His way or not at all, and salvation comes only on His terms—through the redemption price of Christ's precious blood, not human bargaining or preference.
Les explains that redemption means we are bought back, bought with a price paid by someone. That price is not silver and gold but the precious blood of Christ, and without recognizing His shed blood there is no redemption. Les also warns that God is not some Santa Claus up there whom people can manipulate. God is absolute, sovereign, holy, and just, so it must be done His way or no way at all. We cannot manipulate Him; we have to believe and hold to these basic truths.
