Why can you find Christ on almost every page of the Bible?
Scripture presents Christ throughout because its central purpose is the salvation of a fallen human race. From man’s fall in Genesis chapter 3 to the end of the Book, God’s main concern is that humanity can find salvation, so Christ appears in one form or another on almost every page.
Les explains that from the time man is created and falls in Genesis chapter 3, all the way to the end of the Book, it is a Book trying to bring about the salvation of a fallen human race. That is why Christ can be found in one form or another on almost every page from cover to cover: it is God’s main concern that the human race can find salvation. The long suffering and patience of our Lord is salvation, even as Paul wrote according to the wisdom given him, and in his epistles he spoke of salvation and all that attends it, though some things are hard to be understood. Peter, steeped in Judaism, legalism, Temple worship, and the covenant promises, had a hard time admitting that God was no longer dealing with Israel on the covenant promises, but was instead bringing salvation to the whole human race. The unlearned and unstable twist these Scriptures, and their end result is destruction.
