When does Christ really come on the scene in the Bible?

Christ did not first appear at Bethlehem; He has existed from eternity past to eternity future. Scripture presents Him coming on the scene in Genesis chapter 1, in creation, because God the Son called everything into being. He is then manifested throughout the Old Testament before becoming flesh and visible in the New Testament.

Les explains that many people wrongly think Christ came on the scene at Bethlehem when He was born of Mary, but nothing could be further from the truth. He was eternal, from eternity past to eternity future. The context shows Him really coming on the scene in Genesis chapter 1, in creation, because God the Son called everything into being. He is manifested all the way up through the Old Testament. Then in the New Testament, the invisible person of the Godhead becomes flesh, visible, and tangible, though He has always been.
