Where does God hide believers?
Paul says the believer's life is hid with Christ in God. God hides believers by an act of the Almighty, so that Satan, the world, and no one else can reach or touch them. This hidden position is assurance and a promise.
Les explains that the believer's new life in Christ is hidden. He stresses that if the God who created the universe hides something, no one but Him will ever find it. Believers have been hidden by an act of the Almighty God, with Christ and then in God. He compares it to an old walnut: you break the outer shell, then the tough shell, and down in the crevices are the meats. That is where the believer is hidden, where no one but God can find them. Satan cannot get at us there, the world cannot get at us there, and no one can touch us. Les calls this assurance and a promise: we are hid with Christ in God.
