Les Feldick Bible Study

Why are born-again believers different from other people?

God's power unto salvation has imparted these things on their behalf, making them good citizens, parents, and family members who enhance society. This difference is an imputed work of God, not personal perfection or superiority, and it rests on faith in the gospel.

Les teaches that when we are a practicing believer, we will be a good citizen—not giving the police department fits—and a good parent, grandparent, child, and teenager. That does not mean we are perfect; anything but. Yet we will still be the kind of person who enhances society. A community of 100% born-again believers would be a pretty decent place to live, though no church or person is perfect. Les explains that God's power unto salvation has imparted all these things on our behalf, and that is what makes us different. It is an imputed thing God has done, not a right to walk around as if we are perfect or better than everybody. This power unto salvation is to everyone that believeth, and Les says he will look at it more in depth in chapter 3.
