What all does God do when He saves a person from sin?

When God saves a person from sin, He pulls them out of spiritual deadness, gives new life, sets their feet on a rock, forgives, sanctifies, and glorifies them. This all-inclusive salvation rescues from eternal doom and produces a changed life, though spiritual maturity develops over time through growth in grace, knowledge, and wisdom.

Les explains that when an individual realizes he is in the cesspool of sin and the old slave market, there is no hope of getting out unless the power of God takes him out and pulls him out of that deadness in sin. God gives him new life, sets his feet on a rock, forgives him, sanctifies him, glorifies him, and does all these things for him. That is what believing does. The believer then becomes a totally different person in outlook and desires, and this does not come by working for it; it comes. Les also emphasizes that a person will not become a mature Christian overnight. The Christian life is like physical life: new believers are babes in Christ needing tender care, nourishment, and protection, but God expects them to grow in grace, knowledge, and wisdom. This salvation is the power of God unto salvation, all-inclusive, and it saves from eternal doom but is also a lifestyle. The immediate visible aspect is that a true born-again child of God will be a good citizen.
