Why don't Christians have to worry about what men can do to their bodies?

Christians need not fear what men can do to the body because persecutors cannot touch the invisible, immortal part, which will be resurrected even if the body is killed. The resurrection of Christ secures this hope, changing believers’ attitude toward death, as seen when the apostles faced martyrdom without fear.

Les explains that just as the resurrection changed the eleven disciples, so it changes the believer. After Christ rose from the dead, Peter no longer cowered before a young maid or denied Him; Peter stood up to Rome, and the apostles were martyred without fear because of the truth of resurrection. The same applies to us: we can say with Paul that we do not have to worry about what men can do to this body, because they cannot touch the invisible, immortal part of us, which will one day be resurrected if they kill us. This makes all the difference for a Christian, who has the hope of the power of resurrection—first in salvation, out of deadness, as Ephesians 2:1 says, “You hath He quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins.”
