Why did Paul get to Jerusalem despite the roadblocks?
Paul reached Jerusalem in spite of warnings and roadblocks because this was where God intended him to make his final move to the nation of Israel. Israel had to make its final decree concerning him and his message; their rejection then led to his Roman appeal and salvation going to the Gentiles.
Les teaches that Paul goes to Jerusalem contrary to many warnings, which raises questions: Was he being pig-headed? Should he have listened? Should he have stayed away? Les concludes that in the end this was everything God intended. Paul got to Jerusalem in spite of all the little roadblocks because Jerusalem was where he had to make his final move to the nation of Israel. Israel had to make its final decree to have nothing to do with him or his message, so he appealed to the Roman authorities, who came to his rescue first. Then, as Acts 27 and following show, Israel continues to reject her Messiah, and because of that rejection, as Romans 11 explains, salvation goes to the Gentile.
