Did Paul go to Jerusalem contrary to warnings in the final chapters of Acts?

Yes. In the final chapters of Acts, Paul went to Jerusalem despite many warnings. The narrative presents his journey as happening in spite of those cautions, raising questions about whether he was being stubborn or whether God intended it. He went so the final move to Israel could occur, leading to his appeal to Roman authorities.

Les explains that in these final chapters Paul goes to Jerusalem contrary to a lot of warnings, which gives rise to discussion. He asks whether Paul was being pig-headed, should have listened, or should have stayed away from Jerusalem, or whether in the end this was everything God intended. Les concludes that Paul got to Jerusalem in spite of all the roadblocks because this was where he had to make his final move to the nation of Israel. Israel had to make its final decree away with him; they did not want anything to do with him or his message, so Paul appeals to the Roman authorities, and they come to his rescue. Then, as Acts 27 is reached, Israel continues to reject her Messiah, and Romans 11 shows that because of their rejection and fall, salvation goes to the Gentile.
