What are the two separate groups of people God works with in Scripture?
God works with two distinct groups: Israel, His earthly people who were predominantly under law, and the Body of Christ, His heavenly people who are under grace. A chasm separates them, and they cannot be mixed. Jerusalem was the headquarters for Israel, but heaven is the headquarters of the church.
Les teaches that all the way through Scripture there are two areas in which God works: the earthly people of Israel, God's earthly people, and the heavenly people, the Body of Christ. He stresses that you cannot mix them. God's earthly people were predominantly under law, while God's heavenly people are under grace, and a chasm keeps them separated. Les explains that as Jerusalem was the headquarters of everything concerning the Jew, heaven is the headquarters of the church—not Antioch, Rome, Jerusalem, or any other city. In Acts, the pattern is that they always go first to the synagogue of the Jew.
