Why did Paul always go to the synagogue first?

Paul always went to the synagogue first because the gospel is the power of God unto everyone that believeth, to the Jew first and then to the Greek. In his early ministry he began at the synagogue everywhere, and when they rejected it he went out to the Gentile.

Les teaches that Acts chapter 13 marks a transition: after dealing with Peter and Jewish believers at Jerusalem, the account returns to Paul at Antioch, and from here on everything concerns Paul and his ministry to the Gentiles. Yet Paul goes first to the synagogue of the Jew. In his early ministry he always started at the synagogue every place he went, because Romans 1:16 says the gospel is the power of God unto everyone that believeth, to the Jew first, and then to the Greek. When they rejected it, he then went out to the Gentile.

Romans 1:16

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
