What did the Judaizers' devotion to Old Testament religion not stop them from doing?

Their devotion to Old Testament religion did not stop the Judaizers from being vicious and ready to kill anyone who opposed them. They imprisoned and put to death believers who confessed Jesus as the Messiah, and Paul gave his voice or vote against them.

Les teaches that the Judaizers were so wrapped up in their Old Testament religion, yet that devotion did not restrain them; they were ready to kill anybody who opposed them. In Acts 26 Paul rehearses his conversion and admits he thought he ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth. He shut up many saints in prison under authority from the chief priests, and when they were put to death, he gave his voice or vote against them. Les uses this to show that religion, not Christianity, can be vicious and ready to kill, as seen in wars waged in the name of religion.
