How did the Old Testament anticipate God bringing the Gentiles to faith?

The Old Testament was full of the promise that Israel was to be a light to the Gentiles, and that Israel’s Messiah would be the light, though this witness was to come only through Israel. So Gentile blessing was anticipated, not new.

Les explains that bringing Gentiles to faith was not something new, because the Old Testament was full of it: Israel was to be a light of the Gentiles, and Israel’s Messiah was to be the light, but only through Israel. After Israel spent seven years rejecting Peter and the eleven and their appeal, God set the nation aside and began to reach Gentiles directly, as shown when He saved Saul on Gentile ground and told him He would send him to the Gentiles.
