Where were the original twelve disciples chosen?
The original twelve disciples were all chosen within the borders of then-known Palestine, specifically within Israel during Jesus' earthly ministry. Not one was chosen from Gentile territory. All were commissioned while Jesus ministered within the borders of Israel, unlike Saul, who later went primarily to the Gentiles.
Les explains that as Saul made his way on up to Damascus, just a little ways north and east of the Sea of Galilee, the amazing thing is that all twelve of the original disciples were all chosen within the borders of then known Palestine. Not a one was chosen from Gentile territory. They were all commissioned while Jesus was in His earthly ministry within the borders of Israel. Saul is unique in more than one way; by birth he was a Jew of the tribe of Benjamin, a Pharisee of the Pharisees, and later we find Paul was also a Roman by birth and citizenship.
