Did Simon ever repent after Peter told him to in Acts?

Scripture gives no indication that Simon repented after Peter told him to. Peter commanded him to repent and pray for forgiveness, but the text never shows Simon changing his mind. Instead, the context describes him as satanically endowed and later connected to Gnosticism, a counterfeit of Christianity.

Les explains that Simon did not get it in the heart; he saw only the physical and material gain, saying, “Hey, I want that.” Peter then told Simon to repent of his wickedness and pray that the thought of his heart might be forgiven. Yet Les notes there is nothing in Scripture to give the slightest hint that Simon ever changed his mind. In fact, Les cites a book suggesting Simon was probably the promoter of what was later called Gnosticism, a total counterfeit of Christianity. Historical and archeological findings indicate he left Samaria and became an enemy of the Gospel, which Les can believe because he views Simon as a satanically endowed individual.

Acts 8:22

Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.
