What did John the Baptist start with in his preaching?

John the Baptist began his preaching with the announcement that the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand, and he urged people to repent and be baptized. That initial message focused on the nearness of the Kingdom and the need for repentance and baptism.

Les explains that John the Baptist started with "The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand, repent and be baptized." This was the message he began with. In the context of Acts chapter 8, Philip later preached concerning the Kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, and he did not mention Christ's death, burial, and resurrection, which is the core of our Gospel. Instead, they preached that He was the Messiah, the Christ, the Son of the living God. John's starting point was the kingdom at hand and the call to repent and be baptized.
