After Israel killed Jesus, could He still become their King?

Yes. Although Israel killed Jesus, God raised Him from the dead, so He could still become their King if they believed and repented of that deed. Peter laid this out plainly in chapters 2 and 3, and Stephen would press the same accusation.

Les explains that even though Israel killed and murdered Jesus, God raised Him from the dead, and He can still be our King if they would just believe it and repent of that awful deed. Peter, in chapters 2 and 3, lays it out in plain language: “You killed Him. You murdered Him.” Stephen comes back and makes the same accusation, laying the groundwork for his conclusion. Les compares this to Joseph and Moses, showing why there has to be a second time; Christ has already accomplished it, but they must wait until He comes the second time. He hoped they would understand, but they did not. Stephen drives it home, putting the dagger into the heart of the nation and twisting it, making them squirm.

Who really killed Jesus: Israel, Rome, or no one?

Even though Peter tells Israel that they killed the Messiah and some Scriptures make it seem that the Romans put Jesus to death, neither Israel nor Rome actually killed Jesus; no one took His life, because He gave it up voluntarily and they could not have taken it.
