Who is buried in the Cave of Machpelah?

Abraham, Rebekah, Jacob, and Leah are buried in the Cave of Machpelah. They were all laid in that same burial place in Canaan. It is the same burial place that Abraham bought from the Canaanites. This site remains a holy place revered by both Jews and Muslims.

Les explains that the Cave of Machpelah, also referred to as the cave of Mephila, is the burial place of Abraham, Rebekah, Jacob, and Leah. He notes that they were all buried in that same place. Les points out that this very same burial site is a holy site in Israel today for both Muslims and Jews. He mentions that Abraham bought it from the Canaanites, and Jacob had to pay for it again. Les also recalls a tragic event about a year prior when a Jewish doctor massacred Muslims at prayer in that same cave. He connects this to Acts chapter 7, where Stephen recounts how Jacob died in Egypt and was carried to Shechem, and laid in the sepulcher that Abraham bought for a sum of money from the sons of Emor, the father of Shechem. Les notes that in Genesis it was the sons of Heth.
