Were the early Jewish believers in Acts under the gospel of grace or the gospel of the kingdom?
The early Jewish believers in Acts were still under the Gospel of the Kingdom, not Paul’s Gospel of Grace. They were Jewish people, not Gentile adherents of Paul’s gospel. The Gospel of the Kingdom belonged to Christ’s earthly ministry, while the Gospel of the Grace of God began when Paul came on the scene.
Les explains that the early Jewish believers in Acts were not Gentile adherents of Paul’s Gospel of Grace; they were Jewish people still believing the Gospel of the Kingdom. He notes that during Christ’s earthly ministry it was the Gospel of the Kingdom, not the Gospel of Grace, and that when Paul comes on the scene, it changes to the Gospel of the Grace of God. Les also describes how this distinction, which he learned from a booklet titled Which Gospel When? by Paul Van Gorder, totally changed his concept of Scripture.
