What are archaeologists uncovering about first-century Jewish believers in Jesus?

Archaeological evidence indicates that thousands of first- and second-century Jews remained practicing Judaism while embracing Jesus of Nazareth as the Messiah. They did not abandon Judaistic ritual or sacrifices; what was added was their belief that Jesus was who He claimed to be. These early Jewish believers held both Judaism and faith in Jesus together.

Les teaches that the archaeologists are now finding more and more evidence that there were thousands of first- and second-century Jews who were still practicing their Judaism, but had embraced Jesus of Nazareth as the Messiah. He notes they were still meeting in Solomon’s Porch at the Temple, had not stopped taking their sacrifices, and had not stopped Judaistic ritual. The only thing added to their Judaism was that they had believed Jesus was whom He said He was.
