What special people did God make from Abraham?
God made from Abraham a special race of people—the nation of Israel, known as the Jew. This nation was set apart from the mass of humanity, with rare exceptions, to be used by God to bring the nations to a knowledge of Him.
Les explains that when God called Abraham, He told him He would make of him a nation of people, the first part of the Abrahamic covenant. God said He would make them a special race of people, the nation of Israel, or the Jew. This was Jew only, with the exceptions, because during that 2,000-year period God would make rare exceptions. Out of the great river of humanity, God pulled this little stream, the nation of Israel. The whole object was that He would use Israel to funnel back into the nations of the world and bring them into a knowledge of their God, an opportunity they later rejected.
