Why do many Jews today deny that Jews ever followed Christ?
Many Jews today, especially Orthodox, refuse to admit that Jews ever followed Christ. Yet early on thousands of Jews embraced Him as Messiah and Redeemer. The vast majority rejected Him, and God turned to the Gentiles. This denial persists despite archaeological evidence that many Jews had embraced Christ.
Les explains that it is amazing that Jews of the present day, for the most part the Orthodox especially, refuse to admit that Jews ever followed Christ. But thousands of them did early on, and archaeology is proving that many Jews had embraced Christ as their Messiah and Redeemer. Granted, the vast majority rejected Him, and they let the ball drop, so God went to the Gentile without them. Yet for the Jew at the time Peter was dealing with, they had to recognize that Jesus was the Christ, and only Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.
