What does Deuteronomy 32:8 say about how God set the boundaries of the nations?

Deuteronomy 32:8 states that when the Most High divided the nations their inheritance and separated the sons of Adam, He set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel. This places Israel at the very core of God's dealings with all nations.

Les teaches that God has not forgotten the Gentile. Although He has been dealing especially with the nation of Israel, the Gentiles remain in the picture, and Scripture ties that picture back to Israel. In Deuteronomy 32:8, when the Most High divided the nations their inheritance and separated the sons of Adam, He set the bounds of all the other nations according to the number of the children of Israel. So Israel is at the very core of the whole human experience as God's covenant people. Everything else falls into place as it begins with Israel, and even today that postage-stamp-sized nation stays in the news because the world is concerned about Israel making peace for its neighbors.
