Les Feldick Bible Study

Why was Les amazed at the nation of Israel in Acts 3?

The amazement was that the nation of Israel, throughout its history, had seen manifestations of the power of their God, yet those displays seemed to have so little effect on them. Even in Acts 3, after the lame man was healed and people marveled, the nation's response followed that same pattern.

Les teaches that in Acts 3 Peter and John healed the lame man at the temple by the power of the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. The man leapt, stood, walked, and entered the temple praising God, and all the people saw him and were filled with wonder and amazement, recognizing him as the one who had sat for alms at the beautiful gate. But Les explains his greater amazement was at the nation of Israel itself: throughout their history they had seen manifestations of the power of their God, yet it seemed to have so little effect on them.
