Was the Corinthian church predominantly Jewish or Gentile?

The church at Corinth was predominantly Gentile. Paul wrote to believers there, and the context identifies the congregation as mainly Gentile, not Jewish. This distinction is important because Paul consistently addresses believers, though his message would also reach unbelievers, and not the unbelieving world.

Les teaches that Paul is writing to the church at Corinth, predominantly Gentile. He points out that Paul always writes to believers, never to the unbelieving world, though his message would go to unbelievers as well. Les then notes that the princes of this world, including the Jewish leaders and Rome, did not know who Jesus was, for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. He also connects this to Acts 3, where Peter uses it as an escape route for Israel, who rejected their Messiah and suffer for it, though God's mercy will come back on the nation.
