Why do most people not study Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians?

Most people do not study Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians because these later prison epistles move into higher ground and deeper doctrinal water. They contain truths not alluded to in earlier writings, where doctrine gets real and becomes the meat of the Word, so many avoid them.

Les explains that Ephesians is one of Paul's later epistles, written out of his prison experience in Rome toward the end of his life. Because these prison epistles bring out things Paul does not even allude to in his earlier writings, entering Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians means coming into higher ground and deeper water so far as doctrine is concerned. Les says that is why most people won't touch these books: this is where it gets for real, and this is where a believer gets into the meat of the Word. In Ephesians 1:12, Paul writes to believers that they should be to the praise of His glory, we who first trusted in Christ—not repented and baptized.
