What happened to Paul and Silas after Lydia's conversion in Philippi?

After Lydia’s conversion in Philippi, Paul and Silas were arrested, beaten, and cast into the lower dungeon, probably in stocks. This occurred on Gentile ground, in a Gentile prison, with a Gentile jailer. The account continues in Acts chapter 16, verse 25.

The context explains that Paul was on his missionary journey through western Turkey, and the Holy Spirit directed him into Greece. One of the first cities he approached was Philippi, where he met Lydia, the first European convert. After her conversion, Paul was arrested and beaten along with Silas. They were arrested, beaten, and cast into the lower dungeon, probably in stocks. The lesson notes this was Gentile ground, a Gentile prison, and a Gentile jailer. The account then continues in Acts 16:25.
