What happened right when the day of Pentecost came in Acts 2?

When the day of Pentecost was fully come, the fiftieth day after Passover, the believers were all together with one accord in one place. Suddenly a sound from heaven like a rushing mighty wind came and filled all the house where they were sitting.

Les explains that the setting is crucial. Christ had just been crucified at Passover, and they waited for Pentecost, the fiftieth day. After His post-resurrection ministry of forty days, they waited another ten days, bringing them to the fiftieth day. Every one of the seven Jewish feast days brought Jews to Jerusalem from the whole known world, and the Temple was still operating. No one had told these Jewish believers to cast aside Temple worship or the Law, so they were still practicing the feast days. When Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. Suddenly a sound from heaven like a rushing mighty wind came and filled all the house where they were sitting.
