What does Les trust television viewers to do?
Television viewers are trusted to sit down with their Bibles and check out the teaching for themselves. They are urged not to go by what the speaker says alone, but to let Scripture be their final authority, so the program simply helps open it up for anyone to understand.
Les explains that for those watching on television, the program is just another program, but nevertheless he trusts they will sit down with their Bible and check them out. He has always told people, “Don’t go by what I say,” and instead be sure that the Bible is their final authority. The aim is not to replace Scripture but to open it up so anybody can understand it. He also notes that past programs are available on videotape, in little books, and now on audio, and invites interested television viewers to contact them for materials. He thanks listeners for their letters, reads every letter, and tries to answer pertinent questions personally, though he may get behind and asks for patience.
