What did Peter say God would do if Israel repented and was converted?

Peter declared that if Israel repented and was converted, God would send Jesus Christ to fulfill all the covenant promises He had made to the nation of Israel. This promise centered on Israel’s Messiah and the covenant God made with the fathers.

Les teaches that Peter is saying it plain as day: if Israel would just repent and be converted, God would send Jesus Christ to fulfill all the covenant promises He had made to the nation of Israel. The surrounding context is Israel’s Messiah—His appearance, miracles, rejection, crucifixion, resurrection, ascension, and readiness to return—and all the prophets from Samuel onward foretold these days. At this point, nothing is said about the Church or Gentiles saved by grace. Peter is addressing Jews as the children of the prophets and of the covenant God made with the fathers, which rests on the Abrahamic covenant.
