Is the rapture or the Church found in the Gospels?
No, the rapture and the Church are not found in the Gospels. They are not in there, nor in the Old Testament. The Church and rapture were a secret held in the mind of God while He dealt only with the nation of Israel.
Les explains that you should not look for the rapture or the Church in the Gospels. They are not there, nor is Church doctrine or the Gospel as we know it in the Old Testament. It was a secret held in the mind of God because He was dealing only with the nation of Israel. After Christ ascended, Israel continued rejecting the offer of the King and the Kingdom, so God moved the program into the future, inserting an undetermined period of time. During the early Acts period, Peter and the eleven operated only on the Old Testament program, having no concept of God turning to the Gentiles for nearly 2000 years. Peter wasn't talking to the Church or Gentiles.
